I never stop learning and take every opportunity to upgrade my knowledge, to become even more well-informed, and I expect the same from everyone on my team.
I began working as an Investment Advisor in 1995 and built my business from the ground up. Most of my clients from those early years are still with me and I believe that’s a testament to two things: my rigorous approach to building the right investment plan for each client and my personal commitment to investment management knowledge and expertise. I’m not in the business of stock picking – I’m here for the long haul to help steward a family’s finances into the future. And that takes a firm commitment to my clients and to education.
I never stop learning and take every opportunity to upgrade my knowledge, to become even more well-informed, and I expect the same from everyone on my team.
I foster an environment that is forward-thinking, innovative and where open communication within my team and across my extended network of trusted financial professionals is paramount. Our clients experience a culture of enthusiasm and optimism from a dedicated group of passionate professionals, driven to be leaders in client service and financial advice.
I hold a number of designations, which I believe are important for you to know about:
- Family Enterprise Advisor: I am accredited to bring expertise in multi-disciplinary advice to business family clients in the areas Family Enterprise Strategy, Continuity Planning, the creation of Family, Business and Ownership Governance structures.
- Master Financial Advisor - Philanthropy: I am accredited to help with the development and implementation of your strategic philanthropic plan.
- Chartered Investment Manager: I am qualified to provide discretionary portfolio management services on your behalf.
- Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute: As a Fellow, I am accredited to provide high-level investment strategies specifically tailored to affluent individuals.
- Personal Financial Planner
- Certified Investment Manager Analyst through the Wharton School of Business.
- Accredited Portfolio Manager
I’d like to elaborate on my qualifications as an Accredited Portfolio Manager. While there are many financial advisors, there are few Portfolio Managers. By law, Portfolio Managers have a fiduciary duty to act in the client's best interest – only lawyers and accountants are held to this same standard.
Investments Advisors in Ontario are required to act "fairly, honestly and in good faith," which is referred to as ‘the duty-of-care model.’ Portfolio Managers are explicitly mandated that their first obligation is to the client, and are among the most highly qualified and regulated professionals in the industry.
