Mark's Airstream Adventures
With our kids growing up and getting busy with their own lives, my wife Veronica and I decided to take the plunge and buy an off-the-grid Airstream during the crazy times of Covid. It's been a dream of ours to explore parts of Ontario and Quebec that we've never had a chance to visit before. And guess what? Thanks to technology, it's been so much fun!
Our Airstream is equipped with 300 watts of solar panels and 2 lithium batteries, which means we can go off the grid for days. We also stumbled upon this awesome new platform called Harvest Hosts which lets us book overnight stays for free at wineries, breweries, farms, and golf courses—places that welcome self-sufficient RVs like ours. How cool is that?
We recently planned a long-weekend getaway to the Lake Erie Wine Country. We stayed overnight at several picturesque wineries with stunning views of Lake Erie. We also visited the charming town of Amherstburg, right on the Detroit River, and we even took a day trip to Detroit itself and dropped by the legendary Hitsville Motown Museum.
Now, let me give you a taste of the highlights from our trip. We found ourselves at Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery,, where we grabbed a scrumptious picnic lunch for two and enjoyed it on their cozy private beach overlooking Lake Erie. We biked along the paved wine route and stumbled upon Oxley Estate Winery, which had the most amazing patio and an incredible lunch menu.
But you know what made this trip even more special? We got to meet up with some dear friends who live in the area. It's always heartwarming to reconnect with friends while exploring new places. Sometimes we’re also able to bring along our sweet Sheepadoodle, June. We’re training her to be an adventurer and so far she’s doing great!
Wishing you sunny days and endless adventures,
Jeannie's Favourite Golf Courses
Summer has officially arrived on June 21st and I plan to spend my time away from the office by golfing at different courses! My favourite part of trying out new courses is that each of them have their own unique scenic view.
The above photo is hole 16 at Wooden Sticks Golf Course at Uxbridge, Ontario. Which is the course that I am most impressed with and excited to play this summer.
It was designed by architect Ron Garl and features holes inspired by some of the most famous golf holes from around the world. 12 of the 18 holes at Wooden Sticks were each inspired by different famous golf hole from the PGA. I haven’t had a chance to play any of these PGA courses but I envision myself playing off a road in Scotland, across a famous creek in Augusta National in Georgia, onto an island in Florida, and through pine forests in New Jersey when playing at Wooden Sticks. It is a tough course but is an unforgettable golf experience!

Hamed's Passion for Sports
When I’m not working or traveling, I tend to spend a lot of time following sports. There are many different aspects of sport I find fascinating. I like to follow how the owners run their teams and interested in the business they do behind the scenes. I like to see how senior management assemble their teams with players that complement one another. I like to see the different game plans and strategies prepared by coaches. And I obviously like to see how the players execute those game plans and compete.
One of the sports I’ve been following for a long time is European soccer. My favorite league is the English Premier League and my favourite team is Arsenal Football Club. They were serial winners – until I started following them closely about twenty years ago. They have not been able to win a league title during that time. But the team has now improved drastically and look to be competitive again. I’m hoping I could find time to travel to London this year to attend a live match so that I could cross that off my bucket list.
